A Diversion

I took a break from working in order to key up a post for reddit. Since it's about school, where I was learning HR, and it's Friday I guess it's fair to post it here.

When I was a student I hopped on the shuttle which ran a circuit around campus. There were two people on before I got in, the driver and another student. The stereo was playing "Lola" by The Kinks, and the passenger was humming along. So I started humming along, then the driver started singing. As our path continued, we picked up, another guy who joined in, and then three or four football players who looked at us like we were crazy, but picked up right at the bit "Well, I'm not the world's most passionate guy,..." they joined in as well. When we got to the first stop near the classroom buildings nobody got off, we just sat there singing this song with all of the people who were waiting to get on smiling and laughing as we all piled out and went our separate ways.

Shuttle bus full of about seven or eight dudes singing "Lola" about as loud as we could was one of the best days at University ever.

Something New.

It's time to move away from the boring old blog and start a new one. This is a space where I hope to post regular updates about my life as a professional, what that means to me, and what I am learning from the process.

I believe much of this blog will also be dedicated to me going on at length about how awesome GNU Emacs is. I will be writing most of the posts in Emacs and hopefully will soon figure out how to post from within that software.

Enjoy!
